Engagement rate
How it works
Engagement rate here is likes plus replies plus reposts, divided by followers, times 100. Use the average of the last 10 posts and skip giveaways, because giveaway posts have fake engagement by design.
What the numbers mean on crypto X
| Rate | Read |
|---|---|
| Under 0.3% | Bought or dead audience |
| 0.3–1% | Below average, fine for cheap posts |
| 1–3% | Normal healthy account |
| 3–8% | Strong, common for small niche accounts |
| Over 8% | Usually a pod or bought likes, check the replies |
These are rules of thumb from crypto accounts, not a study. YouTube and Telegram run higher because a view or a reaction is cheaper for the audience than a like on X.
What the rate does not tell you
It does not tell you who is engaging. A 2 percent rate from 50 bot accounts that reply to every post is worse than 0.8 percent from real traders. Open the replies and click on twenty accounts. Then run the vetting scorecard. The vetting guide covers the rest.
